Welcome to Dreamville’s Journey to the Dream. This is our blog series where we interview and celebrate our fellow creators in the industry!
Not only do we want to be an agency where we can create a space for our client’s dreams to come to life, but we also want to support creatives on how they are making their dreams come true too.
This week we sit down with Umayma not only a tremendously talented Content Creator and designer but a lovely person too. Here’s Umayama and her Journey to The Dream:
To begin with, could you share a little about yourself?
Umayma Abdul, Business owner and Content creator. Birmingham, UK. 27 years old. I studied Fashion business at University and went on to build a platform sharing all things Fashion, Beauty and Lifestyle. I then decided it was time to start my own fashion label selling customised turbans.Taajraasi is my baby brand that I work on when I am not creating content for my personal channels.
What’s your favourite part of your day as a Content Creator/Blogger?
Mornings for sure! I wake up; make myself breakfast and hop on to my emails. Then starts the creativity of creating content. I love that there are no limits (there are briefs of course) but they always allow me to be authentic and express my creativity freely.
What’s been your favourite career moment so far and why?
Starting my own Fashion label for sure! And also, being featured in Cosmopolitan magazine for using my platform for good and raising awareness for such a great cause.
Who’s the most inspiring person you’ve met and why?
There’s no one in particular that comes to mind. However, I would have loved to meet Princess Diana if she was alive. She was a classy woman with a big heart. She loved people deeply and fearlessly.
What advice would you give to someone wanting to achieve where you are today?
Keep doing what you love and work hard every day. It’s not easy but it’s worth it.
